What the prices do not tell you

Housecall Pro
Extra seats are the real cost driver: a five-person crew on Essentials is a different number from the headline. Card processing is charged separately. The Sales proposal tool is included in Max, listed as a $40/mo value; other plans can add it through a Success Advisor at a price the vendor does not publish. The 'How many users? Teams / Individual' toggle on the page is unfinished and shows $XX.
Fergus
Both plans are printed as From $31 and From $44 a month, and the US page never says how many users those cover, so they are starting figures rather than a price for a crew. Fergus says it offers no yearly plans. Contractor users are $2.50 a day, SMS reminders $15 per 100 texts, and certificates $30 for 1 to 9 staff or $80 for 10 or more. Read from the US page, which points UK visitors to separate pricing. The FAQ says there are no setup fees, and the compare table prices setup and training from $0. The SMS pack, the daily contractor seat and the certificates are not recorded as fees because the fee list has no unit for a pack of 100 texts, a seat by the day or a charge whose period the page does not give.
